Travel as Inspiration

When I travel, the adventure gives me an opportunity for renewal of vision.  A chance to see new things and experience different communities.  Going to Portland, Oregon is a subtle change from the ordinary.  Enough to revive this woman's heart and spirit.  Art and poetry require energy and getting away once and awhile really makes a difference.

Forest dwelling

Forest dwelling

A forest has many faces

The daylight plays upon the surface

Leaves and flowers open, skyward

But at night, the unseen moves

Traveling along the holes and crevices

Communing with earth's mysteries

Magic inside the dark, the quiet, deep down

We are like the forest

A collection of light and shadow, complete and connected

Playing Around in Adobe Photoshop on a Friday Night

I am in a learning glut.  I really can't get enough.  You could say I'm obsessed but that would mean that I have no life.  I mean staying up until 11 every night to play around and creating is a healthy undertaking right?  I'm so grateful to skillshare for all the great classes.   I'm having a great time and I get to make cool stuff like this:

Uploading my fog collection

Fog holds special excitement for me as a photographer.  Timing is everything because as the day grows warmer it can burn off.  That morning I woke up and saw that everything was surrounded in fog and so I bundled up and grabbed my camera.  I drove very carefully to my favorite forest, Yost Park in Edmonds.  There I was able to capture the magic of the light inside the fog.

You Can see the light coming through.  The fog will dissipate soon.
